If you’re in Houston on Labor Day you’re in luck! This Monday, September 1, 2008 the Yoga Teacher’s Association of Houston is sponsoring (with Luke’s Locker) a free day of yoga in Houston. Studios around town are opening their doors for FREE! This is a great opportunity to try out different studios and different types of yoga that you may have been curious about. The whole day gets kicked off Monday Morning with a “city-wide sun salutation” at Discovery Green Park downtown from 9-11am. I am planning on going to this and hopefully another class or two later in the day. For more details and for the full schedule check out the YTAH website or click their banner below. Namaste.

Eating Right Made Easy
So many of us are in the same boat. We have the best of intentions and tell ourselves every week that this will be the week we finally get our eating under control. We’re going to eat healthy, nutritious meals all week. Then life happens and we get busy. So busy that we barely have time for fast food much less cooking our own meals. If you’re like me you’re usually running ninety miles per hour in about twenty different directions and rarely know whether you’re coming or going. I’m not complaining. I love my life and I love staying busy. I keep it that way on purpose. It does make it difficult to always eat as well as I would like, though. Another challenge I run into is the cost of eating healthy. I personally don’t have the option to go home for lunch every day and with gas at $4.00 a gallon who wants to? Sometimes I bring sandwich making supplies but that gets really old after about a week of the same thing. If you ever find yourself in this particular predicament, I have found an answer!
My Fit Foods is a wonderful locally owned establishment that prepares fresh, healthy foods with no preservatives or other added yuckiness. They are high in protein and actually keep you full which I find impressive. When you walk in you will find a wall of coolers filled to the brim with a plethora of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals so you do not have to eat the same thing every day! Yay! I stopped in for the first time last week and picked up five lunch meals just to try them out and see how I liked them. They were yummmmmy. There wasn’t one that I didn’t enjoy or wouldn’t get again. I got the medium sized portions and they were all still under 400 calories. You can order the meals online or stop in any of their locations (see website for more details). They also deliver! If you’re looking for a convenient and inexpensive way to eat healthier this is it. The different sizes are different prices obviously but the medium sizes I got were between $6-7 each. That’s less expensive that most sandwich shops these days and much healthier. Stop in and check it out! Enjoy!

Post Oak No Longer Super Sport!
For all of you who have multi-club memberships and can go to everything but a Super Sport, you’re in luck! The Post Oak location has been removed from it’s Super Sport pedastal and is now a Sport. This happened when they opened the new super awesome Super Sport in Midtown (Elgin & Louisiana). For some reason this wasn’t widely advertised. One of my class members told me… I had no idea so I’m assuming most of you didn’t either. I just wanted to let you all know! See you in class!
